Why we built Tincyglo
Tincyglo started with a simple observation: the kind of skin insight a dermatologist gives is often locked behind appointment waitlists, insurance networks, and geography. Meanwhile, millions of people were making skincare decisions based on trends, marketing, and guesswork.
We set out to build an AI that could see what a trained eye sees — acne, pigmentation, hydration, oil, redness, wrinkles, pores — from a single photo, and explain it in a way anyone could act on. Not a quiz. Not a generic routine. An actual measurement, tracked over time.
Today, that engine powers a free consumer app. We're an early-stage startup, and we're building toward the clinic, hospital, and brand deployments that same AI is designed to support.

We wanted to build the thing a dermatologist actually does in the first ninety seconds of an appointment — look closely, measure what’s changed, and tell you the truth about your skin. Getting that right meant investing in the AI research long before the product was pretty. It’s the part of Tincyglo I’m proudest of.”
